Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, which is grown primarily in the area surrounding the city of Tequila, 65 km (40 mi) northwest of Guadalajara, and in the highlands (Los Altos) of the central Mexican state of Jalisco. You will find a diverse selection of tequila styles, from traditional blanco, reposado and añejo, to more modern flavored options.
